Cryolipolysis, also known as Fat Freezing, is a non-invasive procedure that selectively targets and removes localised fat deposits. It is the cooling of subcutaneous fat cells, which induces lipolysis - the breaking down of fat cells, without damaging any of the surrounding tissue or skin. The fat cells are crystalised over a period of 2-4 months and are slowly removed via the body's natural drainage (lymphatic) system.
It is used to target troublesome areas of fat, e.g. abdominal pouches, for a more toned look. Clients should be fit and healthy, and within 10-20% of their ideal weight. A full consultation will be carried out to determine if this is the right treatment for you.
You can typically expect to lose between 20-40% of fat in the treated area.

Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing)

How does it work?
The treatment is carried out using cryo-cups, which are used to suck in and cool stubborn fat-bearing areas. Cooling is maintained for a pre-determined time period to cause damage to the fat cells. The cells crystalise and disperse, and they then begin a natural removal process which continues for several months, resulting in the gradual reduction of the fat layer.
How long does it take?
Some people notice a change as soon as 2-3 weeks after treatment, however your body will continue to flush out fat cells for up to 4months after your treatment, so this is when you will see optimum results. Most people only need one treatment on their chosen area, although others may decide they require more. We carry out a thorough consultation in order to determine your needs.
There is no down-time with this treatment as it is entirely non-invasive.
Are there any adverse effects?
Some people may experience temporary numbness, swelling, tenderness and bruising, which completely resolves.
